It is proud previledge to me to express my deep sense of appreciation in this modest and unprecedented attempt of organising this souvenir by the students of M.Sc. (Final year) class of this department. This will of course, imprint a glaring example and footsteps to their predecessors and fellow students in, around and outside this department. It serves a bond between the past and present, between the teachers and students and to engrave the fellowfeelings between fellowmates. It sometimes contribute much as a mark of continued affection among themselves. Through this contributions, they get into touch with the new students and become almost one of them. This will ensure them to commemorate the happy memories of their early days when a copy of this sonvenir is opened in future life. Distance and age are forgotten, and for the time being at least they return in their minds to their “Alma Mater”.

This batch of final year students of Zoology remained associated with us for the last four years (some of one or two years) and they were always found evergreen, very enthusiastic. sincere and encouraging in all sorts of academic and extraacademic activities. They take interest on everything of this department not only as a mere chance of temporary feelings or emotions but because they love this departmen, love the subject and love the teachers. They leave no stone unturned to uplift the prestige and integrety of this departmen as well as to bring the name and fame of this University. They are not only students but they seem to be assets of this department rather of his University. In all adverse situations faced by them in and outside the department, during study tour. Fair or Science exhibitions, they played their role very successfully and tactfully.

In short they are praiseworthy and deserves heartfelt sicere love and affection of the teachers.

Meanwhile, I like to take the oppartunity to charge them with greater responsibilities to serve the nation for the greater interest of the country with equal vigour, beauty and energy. I warn them, at the same time not to get frustratec but to be bold enough to face the grim realities of future practival life. No wonder, adversity comes with curse. Wordly happiness depends mostly to a great extend upon wealth. Poverty, very often breaks down the strength of mind and prevents a man from deriving benifit of education and knowledge. A promising career is often found to be ruined by adversity due to frustration. As such a frustrated poet sings :

“full many a gem of purest ray screne
The dark unfathom’d caves of oceans bear ;
Full many a flower is born to blush unseen,
And waste its sweetness in the desert air.”

I advise therefore, the students to bear the verse in mind and to get prepared mentally to face the better truith of life and to take bold step in every adverse situation, instead of getting frustrated.

However, the organisers of this souvenir will definitely feel amply rewarded if they obtain proper facilities in life to exercise their health and heart for utilization of their acquired knowledge, energy and enthusiam and in proving their worth in proper fields.

I sincerely wish and pray to the Almighty for their success, long life and happyness.
